Position Description

The Youth Maritime Collaborative (YMC) Program Director will provide day-to-day primary support, direction and leadership to the convening partners of the Collaborative in order to implement its strategic vision through planning and programming.  The scope of work includes deliverable in the following areas:

Support Collaborative partners in the development and implementation of a 5-year Operating Plan including:

      • Strategic Goals;
      • Implementation Timeline;
      • Annual Budget;
      • Key Milestones and Metrics;
      • Fundraising and Development.

Direct programming efforts and coordinate partner programs, including:

      • Developing a network of internships and recruiting maritime employers and organizations to participate;
      • Deliver a series of experiential and career connected learning events;
      • Support development and delivery of equity trainings to maritime employers and organizations hosting YMC youth and students;
      • Develop a resource database/list of key partners for career connected learning, service learning, field trips, guest speakers, workshops, support/wrap around services, academic support, and college and career navigation; including a mechanism to connect employers to service providers.

Provide planning and facilitation services to assist the YMC partners to collaboratively pursue its goals through regular meetings, through:

      • Design core group meeting agendas;
      • Develop meeting materials;
      • Facilitate collaborative planning and decision making and document results;
      • Ensure and support follow-up of group actions;
      • Report on efforts to raise awareness of maritime career pathways.




Contract Position: $6,800 Month

Reports To: Washington Maritime Blue Board Chair

Location: Negotiable – Office space available in downtown Seattle

Closing Date: Priority first round applications due 4:00pm November 7, 2019 – open until filled
